area covered

We are based in Sussex and can cater for any events in the following areas: West Sussex, East Sussex, Kent, Hampshire, Surrey and London. For events in areas other than these please
get in touch to discuss options.

booking and payments

To accept a booking for an event we will need a deposit at the time of booking (normally £100-300 depending on the size of the event). The balance of payment is required 4 weeks prior to the event date. If a booking is made within 4 weeks of the event date we will require full payment. Payment can be made by BACS transfer or cheque. Bookings are not confirmed until funds have been cleared by our bank.

The following cancellation terms are implicit in each booking: cancellations made by the client more than 8 weeks before the event date will have the 25% deposit returned. Cancellations between 8 and 4 weeks of the event date will forfeit the 25% deposit. Cancellations made within 4 weeks of the event date will forfeit the deposit and final balance.

included in the price

Apart from the core food choices we provide the following as standard for each event:

1. Biodegradable palm leaf plates / bowls, wooden cutlery, napkins.

2. Gazebo tent, BBQ equipment and serving bowls.

3. Transport and fuel costs (unless specified).

We will normally provide one or two chefs for an event. Larger events will need more chefs or assistants and we will provide an estimate of additional staff costs for events larger than 100 people. If you require serving or bar staff we are more than happy to quote for this service. It is not included in the standard catering package, but normally costs £15 per server per hour with a minimum of 4 hours.

event logistics

We will normally arrive 2-3 hours before your scheduled eating time. It will take one hour to set up the equipment, gazebo and serving tables, and then up to 2 hours to prepare the BBQ charcoal and cook the food. To maintain the highest standards of food quality it is important that we can serve the food within 15 minutes of it being ready. Otherwise food will go past its best if kept for long periods in the bain-maries or holding ovens. Clearing up time will be around 1 hour. We will need good access for our van in order to unload and reload the BBQ equipment.

health & Safety

Please advise us at the time of booking if there are any health and safety restrictions on using charcoal BBQs at your event. Please ensure children are kept away at all times from hot coals and live flames. Fire & Brimstome accept no responsibility for injuries sustained by individuals who fail to follow safety warnings and get too close to the BBQ equipment when it is hot.
